Julie Lucifora studied molecular and cellular biology at the Ecole Normale Supérieure of Lyon, France. She obtained her PhD at the University of Lyon in November 2008. After five years of post-doctoral fellowship at the institute of Virology in Munich, Germany, she returned to Lyon and got at tenured position at INSERM as junior researcher. She currently works on the study of interplay between Hepatitis B, Hepatitis Delta and the liver microenvironment in order to develop new antiviral strategies. She received the first Young Investigator Award delivered by the European Association for the Study of Liver diseases (EASL) in 2014 and the Gilead Sciences International Research Scholars Program in Liver Disease Award in 2015.
