Dr. Eva Monroy received her Master’s (1996) and Doctorate (2000) in Telecommunication Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Madrid (Spain), where her main research topic was the design, fabrication, and characterization of photodetectors based on III-nitrides. From 1999 to 2001, she worked as an assistant professor at the Polytechnic University of Madrid. Her research focused on the technological development of opto- and micro-electronic devices based on III-nitrides: photodetectors, field-effect transistors, light-emitting devices, and surface acoustic wave filters. Since 2001, she has been a senior researcher at the Interdisciplinary Research Institute of Grenoble (IRIG) of CEA, where she is responsible for the molecular beam epitaxy cluster for the growth of III-nitrides and oxides. Her main research topics are the synthesis of nanostructures and heterostructures and their incorporation in novel devices for opto- and micro-electronics. In 2004, she was an Invited Professor during the spring semester at the University of Göttingen (Germany), and in 2005, she completed her habilitation as a research supervisor (HDR) at the University of Grenoble. Since 2022, she has been deputy director of PHELIQS.
