Prof. Dr. Xuewu Duan is a researcher
and doctoral supervisor of the South China Botanical Garden of the Chinese
Academy of Sciences (SCBG), a recipient of the National Outstanding Young
Scientist Fund, Young and Middle-aged Leading Talents in Science and Technology
Innovation under the National Program for the Promotion of Innovative Talents
(NPPIT), and a Distinguished Researcher under the Chinese Academy of Sciences
(CAS) program, as well as the Guangdong Special Support Program. He has served
as an expert in the Life Science Department of the National Foundation of China
(NFC), a member of the 13th Five-Year Plan Research Group of the Life Science
Department of the NFC and an expert of the China Scholarship Council (CSC), etc.
He is currently a member of the Degree Evaluation Committee of the South China
Botanical Garden of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, a member of the Youth
Federation of Guangdong Province and a member of the Guangdong Young Scientists
Association. He has won many awards, including the first prize of the Guangdong
Science and Technology Award (technical invention category), the annual figure
of Scientific Chinese (2013) and the Outstanding Scientific Research Talent
Award for the Innovation and Development of China's Food Industry. He is mainly
engaged in research surrounding postharvest biology, biochemistry molecular biology,
and the storage and transportation preservation technology of horticultural
crops.
