Muhammad Qasim Shahid is an Associate Professor at the college of Agriculture, South China Agricultural University. He completed his PhD in Plant Genetics at South China Agricultural University. His current research interests include understanding the fertility mechanism of neo-tetraploid rice, how it contributes to high fertility in polyploid rice, and the resistance mechanism of polyploid rice against abiotic stress.
