Miyoung Shin. Professor. Ph.D. Main research interests are in biomedical informatics, data mining, pattern recognition, and other related fields. B.S. and M.S. degree were received in computer science from Yonsei University in Seoul, Korea, and Ph.D. was received from Syracuse University, NY, USA, in the field of computer and information science. At this time, she was honorably awarded All-University Doctoral Prize for her outstanding Ph.D. work. After Ph.D., she had worked as a senior member of the technical staff in the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) in Korea and had been involved in various research projects. In 2005, she joined at Kyungpook National University as an Assistant Professor in the School of Electronics Engineering and Computer Science (EECS), and worked her way up to a Full Professor in April, 2014.
