In this study, an improved deep learning model is proposed to explore the complex interactions between the road environment and driver’s behaviour throughout the generation of a graphical representation. The proposed model consists of an unsupervised Denoising Stacked Autoencoder (SDAE) able to provide output layers in RGB colors. The dataset comes from an experimental driving test where kinematic measures were tracked with an in-vehicle GPS device. The graphical outcomes reveal the method ability to efficiently detect patterns of simple driving behaviors, as well as the road environment complexity and some events encountered along the path.

In Automatic Modulation Classification (AMC), extended signal lengths offer a bounty of information, yet impede the model’s adaptability, introduce more noise interference, extend the training and inference time, and increase memory usage. To bridge the gap between these requirements, we propose a novel AMC framework, designated as the Mamba-based Automatic Modulation Classification (MAMC), which addresses the accuracy and efficiency requirements for long-sequence AMC. Specifically, we introduce the Selective State Space Model (Mamba), which enhances the model’s capabilities in long-term memory and information selection, and reduces computational complexity and spatial overhead. We further design a denoising unit to filter out effective semantic information to improve accuracy. Rigorous experimental evaluations on the publicly available dataset RML2016.10 and TorchSig affirm that MAMC delivers superior recognition accuracy while necessitating minimal computational time and memory occupancy. Codes are available on https://github.com/ZhangYezhuo/MAMC.

Available charging information exchanges between mobile electric vehicles (EVs) and charging stations are significantly critical in spatio-temporal coordinated charging services introduced by smart girds. In this paper, we propose an efficient information transmission strategy for intelligent charging navigations of enormous moving EVs in large-scale urban environments. Specifically, we firstly design a heterogeneous VANET-based (vehicular ad hoc network) communication framework by means of mobile edge computing concept. In addition, based on the established multi-objective communication optimization problem, we propose an effective charging information dissemination algorithm between mobile edge computing servers and moving EVs. Moreover, in order to further increase charging information delivery efficiency and reduce redundant overheads, an improved local relaying scheme for charging information is designed on the basis of the formulated waiting time model. Finally, a series of simulation experiments are implemented to demonstrate the excellence and feasibility of our charging information transmission strategy.

Sign language recognition (SLR) is a bridge linking the hearing impaired and the general public. Some SLR methods using wearable data gloves are not portable enough to provide daily sign language translation service, while visual SLR is more flexible to work with in most scenes. This paper introduces a monocular vision-based approach to SLR. Human skeleton action recognition is proposed to express semantic information, including the representation of signs’ gestures, using the regularization of body joint features and a deep-forest-based semantic classifier with a voting strategy. We test our approach on the public American Sign Language Lexicon Video Dataset (ASLLVD) and a private testing set. It proves to achieve a promising performance and shows a high generalization capability on the testing set.

Specific Emitter Identification (SEI) is an emitter recognition technology based on the Radio Frequency Fingerprint (RFF) of hardware. The emergence of unknown emitters is frequent in non-cooperative environments, and Open-set Specific Emitter Identification (OSSEI) based studies are becoming increasingly critical. Besides, Radio Frequency (RF) signals contain a substantial number of features that are irrelevant to emitter categories, as a result the distributions of signals are extremely sparse in the feature space. Existing OSSEI methods cannot be capable in extracting categorical representations for such signals, which may lead to wrong recognition. In this work, based on a set of Variational Auto-Encoder (VAE) models, we propose a robust OSSEI framework designed to handle class-irrelevant features. Specifically, we first use the proposed class-independent VAEs to construct categorical representations for each emitter, leveraging signal distributions in the feature space. In addition, to enhance the distinction among inter-class representations and constrain intra-class distributions, we design a supervised contrastive learning (SupCL) based method that generates positive samples for data augmentation by means of sampling from the corresponding distributions. Furthermore, we calculate the category affiliation of signals by integrating reconstruction probabilities and statistical representation features, facilitating the identification of both known and unknown emitters. Finally, we validate the effectiveness of our method from both theoretical and experimental perspectives, achieving state-of-the-art (SOTA) performance.

The measurement of the rotational angle of the wheel is critical for the smart wheel force sensor (SWFS) to obtain the wheel forces defined in the vehicle coordinates. To simplify the structure of the SWFS and overcome the shortcomings of the traditional angular transducer, a new method to evaluate the rotational speed of the wheel and then calculate the rotational angle is proposed in this paper. In this method, the centripetal acceleration caused by the rotation is recorded by three accelerometers and used carefully. What’s more, the possible sources of error are classified and analyzed. Simulations and stand experiment are carried out to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
