Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD) is currently common among youngsters all over the globe. Technological development that creates virtual environment and environmental factors are possible causes besides the traditional cognition of SAD. Different types of therapy have been applied to mitigating or even curing SAD, some use advanced technologies like virtual reality, while others are quite conventional, such as music therapy that has been applied decades ago. Based on the findings of different types of previous study on SAD and its corresponding therapies, the study investigated the basic evidence of SAD and self-cognition of university students. To further develop the concept of possible application of music therapy to modern technology, the musical knowledge and preference were also parts of the investigation. Participants were 15 university students from different regions of China. A questionnaire that is comprised of 9 questions was filled. The questions included basic family composition (number of siblings), some representational questions about SAD extracted from Liebowitz Social Anxiety Scale (LSAS), self-cognition of the ability to judge conversational emotions, and how well they are trained in music and their preference for specific types of music. The questions are generally based on previous studies, which demonstrate the inner connection between relevant separate concepts including music, vocal conversation, exposure and happiness recognition. Specifically we studied those who considered themselves to lack the ability of emotional recognition. The majority of them grew up with no or only one sibling. They tended to work in relatively spacious and empty places without surveillance; meanwhile most of them have low initiative to speak in public when unnecessary. From the musical perspective, most of them have not been trained with musical theory or just have a superficial understanding, which according to previous study, might result in inability in happiness recognition in vocal conversation, which consequently result in SAD.

Circular economy (CE) is a concept actively advocated by the European Union (EU), China, Japan, and the United Kingdom. At present, CE is considered to grant the most traction for companies to achieve sustainable development. However, CE is still rarely adopted by enterprises. As the backbone of the fourth industrial revolution, the digital economy (DE) is considered to have a disruptive effect. Studies have shown that digital technology has great potential in promoting the development of CE. Especially during the COVID-19 epidemic that has severely negatively affected the global economy, environment, and society, CE and DE are receiving high attention from policy makers, practitioners, and scholars around the world. However, the integration of CE and digital technology is a small and rapidly developing research field that is still in its infancy. Although there is a large amount of research in the fields of CE and DE, respectively, there are few studies that look into integrating these two fields. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to explore the research progress and trends of the integration of CE and DE, and provide an overview for future research. This paper adopts a bibliometric research method, employs the Web of Science database as its literature source, and uses VOSviewer visual software to carry out keyword co-occurrence analysis, which focuses on publication trends, journal sources, keyword visualization, multidisciplinary areas, life cycle stages, and application fields.

‘Smart cities’ are a new type of city where stakeholders are jointly responsible for urban management. City Information Management (CIM) is an output tool for smart city planning and management, which assists in achieving the sustainable development of urban infrastructure, and promotes smart cities to achieve the goals of stable global economic development, sustainable environmental development, and improvement of people’s quality of life. Existing research has so far established that blockchain and BIM have great potential to enhance construction project performance. However, there is little research on how blockchain and BIM can support sustainable building design and construction. Therefore, the aim of this paper is to explore the potential impact of the integration of blockchain and BIM in a smart city environment on making buildings more sustainable within the context of CIM/Smart Cities. The paper explores the relationships between blockchain, BIM and sustainable building across the life cycle stage of a construction project. This paper queries the Web of Science (WoS) database with keywords to obtain relevant publication, and then uses the VOSviewer to visually analyze the relationships between blockchain, BIM, and sustainable building within the context of smart cities and CIM, which is conducted in bibliometric analysis followed by micro scheme analysis. The results demonstrate the value of this method in gauging the importance of these three topics, highlighting their interrelationships and identifying trends, giving researchers an objective research direction. Those aspects reported in the paper constitute an original contribution.

Although the development of various technological products increases people’s methods to approach diverse art forms, they also bring many distractions and addictions to recent people, especially to those young people who don’t have much self-control ability. Those attractions causes students prefer to spend all weekend in virtual world, rather than participate in art exhibitions and museums, leading to lack of art appreciation ability and self-perception. This a worldwide issue, but few people have conducted such discussions both in theory and in practice. Therefore, a survey which aims to reveal the recent high school students real situation on artistic influence and a subsequent activity which hopes to improve those students’ most serve problem revealed by the previous survey are prepared to conduct in an emerging group of Chinese high school students: international school students. Then those students who received further treatment on art will be retested on their art appreciation ability. The result will not only give a direction for more high school in China to improve their artistic influence education, but also highlight and reveal that serve issue to more people and schools. The survey by questionnaires reveals that high school students in Guangdong Country Garden international school lack artistic influence extremely. They completely don’t have habit of paying attention to opera performance and visit the art exhibitions only a few times a year. This kind of usual practices leads to deficiency on cognitive power, perception ability and kinesthetic capability. In the survey, most students could describe their feelings to some concrete art works, but they could not describe their feelings on a film or an abstract painting successfully, which means they cannot perceive their own subtle emotional changes. Therefore, those students most severe problem is on their perception capability.

In this paper, we will carry out the design practice of usability-based baren product, that is, the design of product form. The external form design of the product needs to start from the shape, color and material of the product, find the corresponding points of the factors affecting the usability, get specific design elements, and truly transform baren product usability requirements into product language to complete the design practice. The use of curve shape in the form design of the product can better meet the demand for hand semi-clenched fist and hand comfort, which is not only fashionable with modern sense but also warm with simple life, and more in line with the modern society’s pursuit of spiritual and emotional level, but also better meet the hand comfort demand. In the baren product design, the selection of materials follows several key principles: 1) Aesthetic principle: consider whether the sensory characteristics of materials conform to the emotional transmission of products to users. 2) Principle of usability: the function of baren determines that the material should be wear-resistant material. In order to maximize the transmission of the operator’s arm power to the tool, it is necessary to consider how to avoid the skid resistance of the interactive interface and reduce the pressure of the operator’s hand muscles. 3) Principle of technology: in this study, the plastic forming process and the injection molding process of silicone are relatively mature production processes in the market, and the connection between the plastic and silicone is a breakthrough point. And 4) Economic principle: try to choose materials with low price but good processing performance, so as to produce products with good texture, and the price positioning is more suitable for the consumption level of college students. Through the above analysis and review of the literature related materials, it is finally determined that the baren chassis is made of ABS plastic which supports various processing methods, good surface gloss, heat resistance and wear resistance. Then, the surface of the baren handle can be designed with a non-slip pattern or a handle sleeve, and the handle sleeve is made of a soft rubber material, which can enhance the product feel and increase the operation comfort.

With the development of network technology, the university website has become an important online platform for the university. In terms of university website, the usability of the website affects the user experience and efficiency of teachers and students greatly. Although the importance of usability is gradually valued, the usability of university website is still criticized by many people, and even seriously affects the online service of university teaching. There are few studies looking into the problem. This paper takes a university website, i.e. South China Normal University, as an example, sets 3 typical scenarios from different groups of students, such as preschool student, current student and alumni, tests the usability of the website through experiments and uses eye tracker to track users’ eye movements, observes users’ behavior, collects users’ opinions, and puts forward some improvement suggestions. The research finds that, the university website developer should consider the users’ previous school website using habits and take advantage of the “habitually obvious”, and try to develop a ordered and normal structure for the university website, which considering the identity of the users and sort the functions in groups of characters. These results provide ideas for improving the usability design of the university website by taking the South China Normal University for instance.

Although the literature revealed the challenges and drivers to implement Building Information Modeling (BIM) in the building design industry in general, to date, there are few established methods and processes to overcome challenges of BIM adoption in building design, especially in sustainable building design for managing the project. At the present, BIM adoption in building design at micro level, that is, the level of architects, mainly focuses on barriers with little attention to method and the process of implementing BIM. Moreover, there is lack of a robust research method, that is, mixed method, to systematically investigate the process of implementing micro-level BIM in building design, which is related to the factors, such as challenges and drivers to the challenges of BIM adoption. Furthermore, several studies have looked into micro-level BIM adoption in architecture firms, but few of them focused on sustainable design. This emphasizes a need to investigate and explore micro-level BIM implementation challenges alongside its drivers in building design and present methods and processes generated from architects’ perspectives to address the challenges during sustainable design for the project management, which is the aim of this paper. The research investigation was through a questionnaire that is followed by interviews with the leading architectural firms within the UK. The research reported in this paper is to present a clear view of challenges to micro-level BIM adoption and a framework/road-map to address the key challenges in managing sustainable building design projects, which are related to cultural resistance and culture change, top-down management support, current key challenges and drivers, and client and project managers’ interests. The methods and processes that enhanced the framework can be instantly adopted for building design and for architectural companies including small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

With the development of China’s economy and the improvement of urban living standards, the design and study of urban bus stations has become an emerging topic in recent years. The current study on the design of urban bus stops in China is distributed in the following six areas: aesthetics and culture, informatization, built, way of use, place of use, and user experience design. With the advent of the service design and experience economy era, study on bus stations with user experience design as the core has become a hot topic in recent years, which includes interaction and service system, integrated application, platform design, and experience of waiting for the bus. The design of community transportation bus stops based on university campuses, has gradually received attention. However, little attention has been paid to the experience and design of bus stop associated with school transfers close to kindergartens, which is the most important issue to the community transportation. Hence, this emphasizes the need for exploring potential user experience design factors for community transportation design in a case of bus stop design to kindergarten in China, which is this paper aimed at. Based on the result of the study, a bus stop design potential framework for children is proposed in terms of experience design, where the nine factors need to be considered when designing bus stop to help with safety and comfort for children in line with problems and factors: the four problems when waiting for the bus with children at the bus stop, the three inappropriate factors of the current bus stop, and the six inappropriate factors for protection of children safety in the current bus stop design.

At present, sustainable design is experiencing energy consumption and cost-effectiveness challenges in the building industry. A recent body of literature argues that the development of emerging smart digital technologies, such as Building Information Management (BIM) and blockchain (BC), offer immediate benefits to the industry. However, the current application of BIM and BC in the sustainable design and construction process focuses on smart energy and construction management, with little attention to addressing challenges for applying BIM to sustainable design and proposing strategies in terms of the usability of these technologies in the management of building construction projects. Therefore, this paper sets out to explore the potential roles of an integrated BIM and BC approach for sustainable building design information management. The first attempt is presented to use BC aided BIM for sustainable building design coordination and collaboration in multiple building stages. BC has the potential to address challenges that hinder the industry from using BIM for sustainable design, which has been unearthed. An innovative BC enhanced transaction process in BIM is required for sustainable building development. Roles of a user level driven smart contract system of BC can be used to enhance BIM system in the sustainable buildings process. The role of BC is primarily at user level driven smart contracts and their record value exchange capabilities. A user level (BIM stakeholders) driven BC technology for transaction in BIM process flow is revealed, and the user level (sustainable building design project stakeholders/BIM clients) driven and the smart contract enabled BIM+ BC architecture to address challenges of BIM for sustainable design has been further circulated according to the literature. Subsequently, a conceptual architecture of BIM + BC for Sustainable Building Design Information Management Framework in building project management has been proposed, validated, and refined. The Framework has two level encompassing structures and flow. The high-level framework is focused on strategy, whilst the low-level framework demonstrates technical components in detail. This architecture supporting project stakeholders in managing information, has the potential to achieve and ensure the realization of sustainable design goals through the interactive realization of smart contracts integrated into the user level driven BIM + BC system and its recording value exchange function through three user-driven levels, namely user, system, and transaction.

There is a lack of decision-making tools for water efficiency design and construction to maximize project benefits and water conservation. An increasing number of research studies indicate that building information modelling (BIM) can enhance the cooperation, improve work efficiency, and conduct simulation and analysis of sustainability performance in building projects. However, BIM’s potential to enhance water efficiency is yet to be established, such as water gird design optimization, clash detection, combination of BIM with smart appliances and sensors. The research adopted a mixed method approach to investigate the potential impact of BIM on water efficiency in building projects. It involved 50 practitioners from the Architectural, Engineering and Construction (AEC) industry through a questionnaire survey and the follow-up interviews. The quantitative results of questionnaire data and qualitative results of interviews were used to develop a “BIM-based Water Efficiency (BWe) Framework” which was subsequently validated by five experienced practitioners and researchers in the form of semi-structured interviews. The framework applies BIM to optimize traditional water efficiency measures based on an information database. The geometry, attributes, status information of building components or non-component objects stored in the database greatly improve information integration degree of construction engineering. This study provided a reference for the use of BIM for water conservation in building design and construction.
