I am a member of ASM and mainly investigate Staphylococcus aureus epidemiology among risk populations. My other research interests include drug discovery, molecular cell biology, and public health. I graduated with a BSc (Hons) degree in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana [at the end of which he was awarded a Dr. Kwegyir Aggrey Prize], and an MPhil Microbiology degree from the University of Ghana [which was supported with a College of Health Sciences Postgraduate Scholarship]. I have a strong passion for teaching microbiology and molecular biology, and I have offered such lessons to undergraduate and postgraduate students for the past seven years. I am a reviewer for several international journals of high repute, including Antimicrobial Resistance and Infection Control, BMC Infectious Diseases, BMC Microbiology, BMC Complementary Medicine and Therapy, JIDC, and the MDPI-hosted Antibiotics and International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health. Moreover, I have participated in the supervision of several undergraduate and postgraduate students, and I am currently working on multiple funded research projects, including (i) Surveillance of Invasive Pneumococcal Disease in Ghana [funded by Pfizer Pharmaceuticals], (ii) One Health Surveillance of AMR in Gram-Negative Bacteria [funded by Ending Pandemics], and (iii) Invasive Pneumococcal Disease and Carriage among Children with Sickle Cell Disease in Ghana [funded by the NIH].
