The purpose of representation learning is to encode the entities and relations in a knowledge graph as low-dimensional and real-valued vectors through machine learning technology. Traditional representation learning methods like TransE, a method which models relationships by interpreting them as translations operating on the low-dimensional embeddings of a graph’s entities, are effective for learning the embeddings of knowledge bases, but struggle to effectively model complex relations like one-to-many, many-to-one, and many-to-many. To overcome the above issues, we introduce a new method for knowledge representation, reasoning, and completion based on multi-translation principles and TransE (TransE-MTP). By defining multiple translation principles (MTPs) for different relation types, such as one-to-one and complex relations like one-to-many, many-to-one, and many-to-many, and combining MTPs with a typical translating-based model for modeling multi-relational data (TransE), the proposed method, TransE-MTP, ensures that multiple optimization objectives can be targeted and optimized during training on complex relations, thereby providing superior prediction performance. We implement a prototype of TransE-MTP to demonstrate its effectiveness at link prediction and triplet classification on two prominent knowledge graph datasets: Freebase and Wordnet. Our experimental results show that the proposed method enhanced the performance of both TransE and knowledge graph embedding by translating on hyperplanes (TransH), which confirms its effectiveness and competitiveness.

Insects can cause a major loss in stored grain, and early identification and monitoring of insects become necessary for applying corrective action. Considering the effectiveness and practicability, an image processing approach and the corresponding application embedded in smartphones are proposed to identify and count the insects. For the insect images acquired by mobile phones, one sliding window-based binarization is adopted to release their nonuniform brightness, and then connected domain-based histogram statistics is presented to identify and count the insects in stored grain. Finally, the experiments are performed on the corresponding application based on Android, and it has shown that the proposed approach can be applicable for different random insect images from mobile phones with the counting accuracy of 95%, which is superior to the traditional approach.

The absence of labeled samples limits the development of speech emotion recognition (SER). Data augmentation is an effective way to address sample sparsity. However, there is a lack of research on data augmentation algorithms in the field of SER. In this paper, the effectiveness of classical acoustic data augmentation methods in SER is analyzed, based on which a strong generalized speech emotion recognition model based on effective data augmentation is proposed. The model uses a multi-channel feature extractor consisting of multiple sub-networks to extract emotional representations. Different kinds of augmented data that can effectively improve SER performance are fed into the sub-networks, and the emotional representations are obtained by the weighted fusion of the output feature maps of each sub-network. And in order to make the model robust to unseen speakers, we employ adversarial training to generalize emotion representations. A discriminator is used to estimate the Wasserstein distance between the feature distributions of different speakers and to force the feature extractor to learn the speaker-invariant emotional representations by adversarial training. The simulation experimental results on the IEMOCAP corpus show that the performance of the proposed method is 2–9% ahead of the related SER algorithm, which proves the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Stemming from the overlap of objects and undertraining due to few samples, road dense object detection is confronted with poor object identification performance and the inability to recognize edge objects. Based on this, one transfer learning-based YOLOv3 approach for identifying dense objects on the road has been proposed. Firstly, the Darknet-53 network structure is adopted to obtain a pre-trained YOLOv3 model. Then, the transfer training is introduced as the output layer for the special dataset of 2000 images containing vehicles. In the proposed model, one random function is adapted to initialize and optimize the weights of the transfer training model, which is separately designed from the pre-trained YOLOv3. The object detection classifier replaces the fully connected layer, which further improves the detection effect. The reduced size of the network model can further reduce the training and detection time. As a result, it can be better applied to actual scenarios. The experimental results demonstrate that the object detection accuracy of the presented approach is 87.75% for the Pascal VOC 2007 dataset, which is superior to the traditional YOLOv3 and the YOLOv5 by 4% and 0.59%, respectively. Additionally, the test was carried out using UA-DETRAC, a public road vehicle detection dataset. The object detection accuracy of the presented approach reaches 79.23% in detecting images, which is 4.13% better than the traditional YOLOv3, and compared with the existing relatively new object detection algorithm YOLOv5, the detection accuracy is 1.36% better. Moreover, the detection speed of the proposed YOLOv3 method reaches 31.2 Fps/s in detecting images, which is 7.6 Fps/s faster than the traditional YOLOv3, and compared with the existing new object detection algorithm YOLOv7, the speed is 1.5 Fps/s faster. The proposed YOLOv3 performs 67.36 Bn of floating point operations per second in detecting video, which is obviously less than the traditional YOLOv3 and the newer object detection algorithm YOLOv5.
