Dr. Krešimir Ninčević is a structural engineer currently working as a Project Manager in the Code Development Research (ARC) team in BU Anchors (HEG). He has previous experience working on special facade calculations and the static design of light-ventilated facade systems performing FEM sophisticated static analyses for simple to highly complex facades and supporting the back-office engineering team in daily operations, software development, and Codes and Approval activities. He received his PhD at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna, Austria, where he developed his scientific research interests, including short- and long-term experimental characterization tests performed on concrete (full material characterization tests), short-term tests on anchor systems (mechanical and bonded anchors) under tensile and shear loading, long-term tests for a mechanical and bonded anchor under a sustained load, and the advanced numerical modelling of fastening systems using the Lattice Discrete Particle Model (LDPM).
Prior to enrolling in his PhD at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, he graduated from the University of Split, Croatia, and the University of Stuttgart, Germany, as a civil engineer with a specialization in structural engineering.
He received an award for the best Master's thesis in the field of civil engineering in Croatia for 2014, and a PhD dissertation award, "Klaus Fischer Innovationspreis für Technik und Umwelt,” in Austria.
