Supakarn Chamni is an Associate Professor at the Department of Pharmacognosy and Pharmaceutical Botany, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chulalongkorn University (2012 to present). She received a doctoral degree in Organic Chemistry from Texas A&M University in 2011 under the supervision of Prof. Danial Romo. At the beginning of her career, she was a research fellow supported by the Asia/Africa Center for Drug Discovery, Japan (2015–2017), the Junior Research Fellowship Program, France (2015), and the Talented Young Scientist Program, the Republic of China (2018). Her main research interest is the structure–activity relationship study of biologically active natural product derivatives in anticancer, steroid 5-alpha-reductase inhibition, and anti-infection applications. Her research highlights include the structure–activity relationship study of renieramycin M, a marine tetrahydroisoquinoline quinone, and the natural product-inspired steroid 5-alpha-reductase inhibitors. She also received the Young Researcher Award in the Science and Technology Division of Chulalongkorn University in 2018 and the Invention Award from the National Research Council of Thailand in 2022. She is the head of the Natural Products and Nanoparticles Research Unit, Chulalongkorn University.
