Biography

Roman K. Puzanskiy has a position as a Research Scientist and is currently at the Laboratory of Analytical Phytochemistry, Komarov Botanical Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, St. Petersburg, Russia (2019–present) and Faculty of Biology, St. Petersburg State University, St. Petersburg, Russia (2010–2019). He holds a Bachelor’s degree from the Department of Invertebrate Zoology and a Master’s degree from the Department of Plant Physiology and Biochemistry at the Faculty of Biology, St. Petersburg University. He is a postgraduate student at the Department of Plant Physiology and Biochemistry, Faculty of Biology and Soil Science, St. Petersburg University. In 2007, he took courses as part of the master's program at Umeå University (Sweden). His research interests are microalgae and plant cell cultures; systemic analysis of trophic adaptation of microalgae; gene expression and the metabolome under different trophic conditions; analysis of the relationship between the metabolome and the development and adaptation of plants; study of the biochemical diversity of plants and algae; analysis of relations between the phylogenetic relationship and the metabolome in algae and higher plants; investigation of the systemic changes in the metabolome during the growth, development and evolution of plants and algae; and testing and developing bioinformatics methods focused on metabolomic analysis.
