Dr. Walter Schumm earned his Ph.D. in family studies from Purdue University in 1979 and has taught at Kansas State University since then. He served in the U.S. Army Reserve and the Army National Guard from 1972 to 2002 and retired as a colonel, U.S. Army. He is retiring from Kansas State in May 2021.
