Maria Skokou, MD, Ph.D., Consultant Psychiatrist, Department of Psychiatry, University Hospital of Patras, Greece. Graduated from the School of Medicine, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, in 1998. Received the title of Medical Specialty of Psychiatry, from the Department of Psychiatry, University Hospital of Patras, Greece, in 2006. Received Ph.D. degree, on the subject “Comparative Study of early and late-onset paranoid schizophrenia”, from the School of Medicine of the University of Patras in 2012. Clinical experience since 2002, at inpatient, outpatient, and protected patient housing facilities. Current research interest in psychopharmacology, psychopathology, pharmacogenomics, personalized treatment, cognitive rehabilitation, psychosis, mood disorders, and personality. Previous research interests in sex and age influences on psychiatric illness. Secretary of the Peloponnese section of the Hellenic Psychiatric Association, since 2009. Secretary of the Greek Neuropsychiatric Association, since 2015.
