Prof. Dr. José Vale is a professor at the Porto Accounting and Business School (Polytechnic of Porto), Portugal, where he teaches several courses, namely related to accounting. He has a Ph.D. in Management, Accounting and Management Control, from the Faculty of Economics, University of Porto. He also holds a Master's degree in Administration and Management and an MBA in Business Operations Management from the Portuguese Catholic University. He has several articles published in international journals, having also participated in different international and national conferences. He has been a member of different conferences’ scientific committees, such as the European Conference on Knowledge Management. His research interests focus on management accounting, management control, intellectual capital, knowledge management, non-financial reporting, and sustainability. He is also a member of the Porto Polytechnic’s Centre for Organisational and Social Studies, and a member of the Portuguese Chartered Accountants Association.
