He graduated in “Optics and Precision Mechanics” from Setif University, Algeria, and received the Ph.D. from the Mechanical Engineering Department of the University of Glasgow, Scotland. Currently, he is an Associate Professor at the department of Systems Engineering and Automation of the Carlos III University of Madrid. During his research career he has collaborated and led various projects funded by industry and national and international institutions. He has been involved in the development of climbing robots, space robotic systems, automation in construction and dexterous robotic manipulations systems both for industry and for general purpose. His research interests include robotic manipulation, perception for manipulation, computer vision and image processing, and the use of computer vision and robotics in biomedical application. More recent research interests include green energy and the application of artificial intelligence in power systems.
