Dr. Gabriel Socol graduated from the Faculty of Physics, University of Bucharest, and received his PhD from the University of Bucharest in 2007. He is head of the Lasers Department (2015–present) and a senior research scientist (2011–present). His current areas of research are applications of thin films obtained by physical vapor deposition methods for medicine, gas sensors, biosensors, photocatalysis, and photovoltaics.
