Amy J.C. Trappey received her PhD in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University (USA). Professor Trappey’s research interests are in knowledge engineering and intelligent systems, focusing on the subject scopes in intelligent manufacturing, advanced patent analytics, and integrated engineering asset management. Amy was appointed the Dean in the School of Management at National Taipei University of Technology in 2008. She is a Distinguished Professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management, National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan. Prof. Trappey has extensive journal-editing experience. She is currently serving as the Special Content Editor of Advanced Engineering Informatics. Amy is also the Associate Editor for two other journals in her field, IEEE Transactions on SMC: Systems and World Patent Information. Amy’s academic achievement is well regarded in the industrial engineering community. She is a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the International Society of Engineering Asset Management, and the Chinese Institute of Industrial Engineers.
