Melanie Zimmer-Gembeck, PhD, is a professor in applied psychology at Griffith University, Australia. She is a developmental psychologist and conducts research on interpersonal relationships, stress and coping, gender, and emotional and behavioral problems from childhood to early adulthood. She also directs the Family Interaction Program, which investigates the effectiveness of parenting support and youth support programs. She collaborates with clinical colleagues to reach more children and families with effective programs to reduce disorder symptoms and support positive development. She has published more than 300 books, book chapters, and journal articles, and her research has attracted more than $35million in funding.
