Dr. rer. nat Holger Kirsten is currently senior scientist at the Medical Faculty of the University of Leipzig. He studied biochemistry in Leipzig, Germany, and Cardiff, United Kingdom, and received his PhD in 2011. He is experienced in molecular techniques and specialized in bioinformatics and data science. His current research interests include molecular epidemiology of complex diseases, epidemiological modelling, and machine learning. He is a member of the German Society for Epidemiology (DGEpi) and received multiple poster awards, the award “rising young investigator” and the Science Award of the German Association for Dyslexia and Dyscalculia.
