Research professor Yoon-Ji Kim specializes in Department of Preventive medicine and Occupational & Environmental medicine at Pusan National University School of Medicine.
Her research focuses on identifying how workplace and environmental exposures influence human health, with particular attention to chemical, physical, and psychosocial occupational hazards and their links to chronic diseases, mental health, and health inequalities.
She is actively engaged in long-term cohort studies on occupational and environmental risk factors, such as long working hours, shift work, and psychosocial stressors, aiming to clarify their cumulative health impacts.
Professor Kim also serves as a principal investigator in the National Integrated Bio Big Data Construction Project led by the Department of Occupational and Environmental Medicine at Pusan National University Yangsan Hospital. This large-scale initiative integrates biological samples, clinical data, and exposure information to build a comprehensive bio–big data platform for population-based epidemiologic research.
Her academic endeavors seek to provide evidence-based insights for worker health promotion, disease prevention, and public health policy development, contributing to safer and healthier work environments.
