Ulises Gómez-Pinedo is currently working as part of a group of researchers at the Institute of Neurosciences of the IdISSC of the San Carlos Clinical Hospital and is responsible for the neurobiology research laboratory. His research interests focus on neuroscience, especially on three closely related areas: cell therapy in the CNS; adult neurogenesis; and the pathophysiological mechanisms of neurodegenerative diseases such as PD, ALS, and MS. He has also contributed to reviewing international journals such as: Brain Research, Neuroscience Methods, Neuroscience Letters, Neurologia-Elsevier, CNS Neuroscience & Therapeutics, Biomaterials, Journal of Biomedical Materials Research Part B: Applied Biomaterials, Cellular and Molecular Neurobiology, Journal of Neuroscience, Cell Transplantation, Histology and Histopathology and Virtual Reality.
