Dr Akhtar Hayat is the founder of the sensors/biosensors research group at IRCBM, COMSATS, Lahore, and is acting as a head of this group. Dr Akhtar was the first person to initiate and establish a bio(sensing) group in Pakistan: an extremely active and advanced area in the field of environmental, medical/agro-food research. Dr Akhtar Hayat has licensed a patented technology with Eco global foods and is working on many other applied projects with commercial impact. Dr Akhtar Hayat is playing a key role towards the development of this group based on his international collaborations and national research funding. Dr Akhtar Hayat has developed several productive research collaborations/singed research MoU with leading research groups all over the world. He is also very progressive for working in collaboration with research groups from the National Institution in Pakistan. Dr Akhtar Hayat has published various research articles in the prominent and prestigious international journals including Advanced Health Care Materials, NanoScale, Analytical Chemistry, and Biosensors&bioelectronics. He is also an author of many international book chapters, as well as a PI for many research grants.
