Prof. Dr. Guillermo Carpintero received an engineering degree from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and a Ph.D. degree from UC3M. Prof. Dr. Guillermo Carpintero is currently a Full Professor at the Electronics Technology Department, Carlos III University of Madrid (UC3M). Prof. Dr. Guillermo Carpintero has been a visiting researcher with the Center for Advanced Photonics and Electronics (CAPE), University of Cambridge, and a visiting professor at University College London and Osaka University. Prof. Dr. Guillermo Carpintero was awarded the Heather Williamson Young Investigator Award in 2000 from the International Society for Optics and Photonics (SPIE), the Award of Excellence Social Council of UC3M in 2009, and the Award for Best European R&D Project in Cooperation madri+d Foundation in 2011. Prof. Dr. Guillermo Carpintero is on the Editorial Board of the IET Optoelectronics Journal.
