Kevin Summers is a Senior Research Ecologist at EPA’s Gulf Ecosystem Measurement and Modeling Division. At present, he is working with colleagues in the Sustainable and Healthy Communities Program to develop an index of community resilience to natural hazards, an index human well-being that can be related to changes in ecosystem, social and economic services, and a community sustainability tool for communities with populations less than 40,000. He leads research efforts for indicator and indices development. Dr. Summers is a systems ecologist and began his career in EPA in 1989 and was worked in various programs and capacities.
