Dr. Annapaola Rizzoli

Annapaola Rizzoli is a DVM, Ph.D operating in the One Health research area. Her major scientific interests and expertise are in the field of ecology, epidemiology, and risk assessment of emerging zoonotic diseases driven by global changes and biodiversity loss. She integrated her education in veterinary medicine with interdisciplinary courses and training in biology, ecology, epidemiology, and spatial and mathematical modelling. She directed two multidisciplinary research centres (agri-food and environment) and coordinated and carried out several research projects at national and international level. Her research work was also supported by competitive research funds at the national and EU level (i.e. FP6 EDEN http://www.eden-fp6project.net/ as participant; FP7 EDENext http://www.edenext.eu/ as WP leader; FP7 Eurowestnile http://www.eurowestnile.org/as Scientific coordinator; H2020 Zikalliance: https://zikalliance.tghn.org/ as participant; H2020 MOOD https://mood-h2020.eu/ as WP leader). She was recently awarded, by the Italian National Scientific Qualification ASN, as Full Professor for the discipline 07/H3 animal infectious and parasitic diseases.
