Francesca A. Scaramuzzo is an assistant professor in the Department of Basic and Applied Sciences for Engineering (SBAI) at Sapienza University of Rome. She received her B.S. and M.S. in chemistry from Sapienza University of Rome in 2004 and 2006, respectively, and earned a Ph.D. from the Joint Research Doctoral Thesis Project of the University of Twente and Sapienza University of Rome. Her research interests span different materials chemistry topics, ranging from the synthesis of inorganic materials (either bulk or nanostructured) for energy production to the functionalization of inorganic surfaces for biomedical applications and coordination compound chemistry for molecular recognition.
