Ilias Karaiskos is an Associate Faculty at the First Department of Internal Medicine-Infectious Diseases, Hygeia General Hospital, Athens, Greece. He received his Medical Degree from the School of Medicine, National University of Athens in 2000. He has served as an Infectious Disease Fellow at the First Department of Medicine, Medical School, Laiko Hospital since 2015. In June 2015, he was awarded the First Award for best abstract on Infectious Diseases at the 41st PanHellenic Medical Congress, Athens, Greece. His research interests include urinary tract infections and prostatitis, pharmacokinetic studies of newer and older antibiotics, nosocomial infections, and epidemiology surveillance studies.
