Shu-sen Zheng is an Academician at the Chinese Academy of Engineering and an Academician of the National Academy of Medical Sciences, France. They are a Professor of Surgery and a well-known surgical specialist in the fields of organ transplantation and hepato-pancreato-biliary surgery, starting with the first successful liver transplantation at Queen Mary Hospital at Hong Kong University in October 1991. Professor Zheng has devoted himself to the development of liver transplantation in China. He performed the first liver transplantation in Hangzhou in 1993, setting off a new surge in liver transplantations in China.
