Shu Yuan, PhD supervisor, graduated from the National Biological Talent Training Base of Sichuan University in 2002 with a bachelor’s degree in science. In 2008, he obtained a doctorate in botany from Sichuan University and stayed on to teach. In 2011, he transferred to Sichuan Agricultural University and was promoted to professor. In 2007, he conducted collaborative research in the laboratory of academic Steffen Reinbothe at Grenoble I University in France. From 2011 to 2013, he conducted postdoctoral collaborative research in the laboratory of Professor Yikun He at Capital Normal University. He is mainly engaged in research related to plant stress resistance physiology, cell signal transduction, virus–host interactions, and reactive oxygen balance. He was selected as an outstanding youth in Sichuan Province, a leader of the Sichuan Youth Science and Technology Innovation Team, a member of the “Plant Nutrition Biology” Professional Committee of the Chinese Society of Plant Nutrition and Fertilizer, a reserve talent for academic and technical leaders in Sichuan Province, and an executive director of the Sichuan Youth Federation of Science and Technology. In 2022, he was selected into the top 2% of the world's top scientists.
