Prof. Xiangju Cheng is a Professor and Doctoral Supervisor of the Department of Water Resources, at the School of Civil Engineering and Transportation, South China University of Technology. She received her Ph.D. degree in Hydraulics and River Dynamics from the State Key Laboratory of Hydraulics and Mountain River Development and Protection, Sichuan University, and was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Water Resources, Tsinghua University. She is mainly engaged in research work on hydraulics, water environment, and water ecology related to water conservancy projects, nearshore waters, estuaries, and aquaculture. She has specific research experience in the hydraulic calculation of rivers and river networks, the diffusion, migration, and transformation of pollutants in the water environment, the hydrodynamics of nearshore estuaries, and healthy aquaculture.
