Prof. Dr. Sebastian Baloš, born in Sombor on August 27, 1974, graduated in 2000 from the Faculty of Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad, with a degree in Production Engineering. He completed his Master's in 2009 on material characterization and earned his PhD in 2010 with research on composite armor for vehicles. Appointed as an assistant professor in 2010 and promoted to associate professor in 2016, he heads the Department of Materials and Joining Technologies. Prof. Baloš has participated in seven national and international projects, including two ongoing ones. He collaborates extensively with industry, working with companies such as Lafarge, NIS/Gazprom, Srbijagas, FIAT, and Bet Shemesh Engines. His research spans materials science, welding, friction stir technologies, and ballistic materials, with over 170 publications and numerous technical solutions.
