Laurent Ferro-Famil received the Laurea degree in electronics systems and computer engineering and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electronics from the University of Nantes, Nantes, France, in 1996, 1996, and 2000, respectively. In 2001, he became Associate Professor at the University of Rennes 1, France, where he has been a Full Professor since 2011. He is currently the head of the Waves and Signals department of the IETR laboratory in Rennes, and is also with the radar group of CESBIO laboratory, in Toulouse, France. His current activities in education are concerned with analog electronics, digital communications, microwave theory, signal processing, and polarimetric SAR remote sensing. His current research interests include radar signal processing for remote sensing application, including radar polarimetry theory, electromagnetic imaging and natural media remote sensing using radar multibaseline PolInSAR data, with application to classification, electromagnetic scattering modeling, physical parameter retrieval, and 3-D reconstruction of environments using tomography.
