The air feeding system is one of the most important systems in the proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) stack, which has a great impact on the stack performance. The main control objective is to design an optimal controller for the air feeding system to regulate oxygen excess at the required level to prevent oxygen starvation and obtain the maximum net power output from the PEMFC stack at different disturbance conditions. This paper proposes a fractional order fuzzy PID controller as an efficient controller for the PEMFC air feed system. The proposed controller was then employed to achieve maximum power point tracking for the PEMFC stack. The proposed controller was optimized using the neural network algorithm (NNA), which is a new metaheuristic optimization algorithm inspired by the structure and operations of the artificial neural networks (ANNs). This paper is the first application of the fractional order fuzzy PID controller to the PEMFC air feed system. The NNA algorithm was also applied for the first time for the optimization of the controllers tested in this paper. Simulation results showed the effectiveness of the proposed controller by improving the transient response providing a better set point tracking and disturbance rejection with better time domain performance indices. Sensitivity analyses were carried-out to test the robustness of the proposed controller under different uncertainty conditions. Simulation results showed that the proposed controller had good robustness against parameter uncertainty in the system.

The emergency evacuation route planning of cruise ships directly affects the safety of all crew members and passengers during emergencies. Research on the planning of emergency evacuation routes for cruise ships is a frontier subject of maritime safety. This study proposes an improved ant colony system (IACS) to solve the evacuation route planning of crowds on cruise ships. The IACS, which is different from common single-path ant colony system (ACS) evacuation algorithms, is used to solve the multipath planning problem of crowd evacuation from cruise ships by considering crowd density and speed in the model. An increasing flow method is introduced into the IACS to improve the efficiency of the proposed algorithm. Numerical experiments show that this method meets the requirements of evacuation analysis guidelines for new and existing passenger ships (MSC.1/Circ.1533)and can effectively and efficiently plan the emergency evacuation path for cruise ship crowd.

An accurate model is important for the engineer to design a robust controller for the autonomous underwater vehicle. There are two factors that make the identification difficult to get accurate parameters of an AUV model in practice. Firstly, the autonomous underwater vehicle model is a coupled six-degrees-of-freedom model, and each state of the kinetic model influences the other five states. Secondly, there are more than 100 hydrodynamic coefficients which have different effects, and some parameters are too small to be identified. This article proposes a simplified six-degrees-of-freedom model that contains the essential parameters and employs the multi-innovation least squares algorithm based on the recursive least squares algorithm to obtain the parameters. The multi-innovation least squares algorithm leverages several past errors to identify the parameters, and the identification results are more accurate than those of the recursive least squares algorithm. It collects the practical data through an experiment and designs a numerical program to identify the model parameters. Meanwhile, it compares the performances of the multi-innovation least squares algorithm with those of the recursive least squares algorithm and the least square method, the results show that the multi-innovation least squares algorithm is the most effective way to identify parameters for the simplified six-degrees-of-freedom model.

Wave heights are important factors affecting the safety of maritime navigation. This study proposed a stacking ensemble learning method to improve the prediction accuracy of wave heights. We analyzed the correlation between wave heights and other oceanic hydrological features, according to eleven features, such as measurement time, horizontal velocity, temperature, and pressure, as the model inputs. A fusion model consisting of two layers was established according to the principle of stacking ensemble learning. The first layer used the extreme gradient boosting algorithm, a light gradient boosting machine, random forest, and adaptive boosting to determine the deep relations between the wave heights and the input features. The second layer used a linear regression model to fit the relation between the first layer outputs and the actual wave heights, using the data from the four models of the first layer. The fusion model was trained based on the 5-fold cross-verification algorithm. This paper used real data to test the performances of the proposed fusion model, and the results showed that the mean absolute error and the mean squared error of the fusion model were at least 35.79% and 50.52% better than those of the four models.

Information retrieval-based question answering (IRQA) and knowledge-based question answering (KBQA) are the main forms of question answering (QA) systems. The answer generated by the IRQA system is extracted from the relevant text but has a certain degree of randomness, while the KBQA system retrieves the answer from structured data, and its accuracy is relatively high. In the field of policy and regulations such as household registration, the QA system requires precise and rigorous answers. Therefore, we design a QA system based on the household registration knowledge graph, aiming to provide rigorous and accurate answers for relevant household registration inquiries. The QA system uses a semantic analysis-based approach to simplify one question into a simple problem consisting of a single event entity and a single intention relationship, and quickly generates accurate answers by searching in the household registration knowledge graph. Due to the scarcity and imbalance of QA corpus data in the field of household registration, we use GPT3.5 to augment the collected questions dataset and explore the impact of data augmentation on the QA system. The experiment results show that the accuracy rate of the QA system using the augmented dataset reaches 93%, which is 6% higher than before.

In order to find the optimal path for emergency evacuation, this paper proposes a dynamic path optimization algorithm based on real-time information to search the optimal path and it takes fire accident as an example to introduce the algorithm principle. Before the accidents, it uses the Dijkstra algorithm to get the prior evacuation network which includes evacuation paths from each node to the exit port. When the accidents occur, the evacuees are unable to pass through the passage where the accident point and the blocking point are located, then the proposed method uses the breadth-first search strategy to solve the path optimization problem based on the prior evacuation network, and it dynamically updates the evacuation path according to the real-time information. Because the prior evacuation network includes global optimal evacuation paths from each node to the exit port, the breadth-first search algorithm only searches local optimal paths to avoid the blockage node or dangerous area. Because the online optimization solves a local pathfinding problem and the entire topology optimization is an offline calculation, the proposed method can find the optimal path in a short time when the accident situation changes. The simulation tests the performances of the proposed algorithm with different situations based on the topology of a building, and the results show that the proposed algorithm is effective to get the optimal path in a short time when it faces changes caused by the factors such as evacuee size, people distribution, blockage location, and accident points.
