Information

Doctor in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Universitat de València, España. Post-doc atl Institut de Génétique Humaine-CNRS, Francia. Researcher in the area of chromatin, histone acetylation, DNA replication and evaluation of active principles in S. cerevisiae and leishmania spp. Professor-researcher at the Central University of Ecuador (Zoonosis Research Institute, Faculty of Chemical Sciences). Principal Investigator of the Laboratory of DNA Replication & Genome Instability of the International Center for Zoonoses. I am interested in studying DNA replication and chromatin. We are using two study organisms: S. cerevisiae and L. mexicana. Many replication studies have been conducted in various model organisms, but trypanosomatids have been less studied from this perspective. Transferring scientific knowledge to these protozoa deserves special attention to exploit the differences that may involve potential therapeutic approaches.
