Pamali Fonseka obtained her M.Sc. in Biotechnology and
Bioinformatics (2014) and Ph.D. (2018) from La Trobe University, Melbourne,
Australia. She is now employed as a Post-Doctoral Researcher in Biochemistry
and Genetics at the same university. She is also the secretary of the La Trobe
Institute for Molecular Science Postdoctoral Society and ECR representative of
the Research Centre for Extracellular Vesicles. She is currently investigating
a novel therapeutic avenue to treat metastatic breast cancer and neuroblastoma.
She is also interested in understanding the underlying mechanisms involved in
the biogenesis and secretion of extracellular vesicles (EVs) and engineering
EVs as drug vehicles to treat cancer. She is well-trained in cell biology, EV
isolation and treatment techniques, microscopy, FACS analysis and animal
models.
