Prof. Dr. Hamad H. Al Mamari obtained his BS degree in
chemistry from Sultan Qaboos University (SQU, Oman (1996), followed by his
appointment as a demonstrator at SQU. Then, he obtained his Master’s degree in
chemistry from the University of California at Santa Barbara, USA (2000). In
2006, he obtained his PhD in chemistry at the University of Oxford, UK. His
teaching output was officially recognized by the University as the sole
recipient of the “Best Teacher Award” in the College of Science in 2010 and
once again as the sole recipient of the “Best Teacher Award” in the College of
Science in 2015. He has wide experience in research that was conducted in top
international universities. He conducted a one-year research in 2012/2013 at
Georg-August Universität, Göttingen, Germany (Host: Professor Lutz Ackermann). Then, he conducted four research at the University of Tokyo, Japan (2015) (Host: Professor Eiichi Nakamura), Julius-Maximilians-Universität, Würzburg, Germany (2016), the University of Tokyo, Japan (2017) (Host: Professor Eiichi Nakamura) and the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia (2018). In September 2021, Dr. Al Mamari conducted a one-year research/sabbatical visit in the group of Professor Todd B. Marder at Julius-Maximilians-Universität, Würzburg, Germany to work in Ir-catalyzed C-H borylation. Dr. Al Mamari research interest involve development of new reactions and methods in C-H bond functionalization and their applications i natural product synthesis.
