Dr Chandan Kumar is currently working as a Senior Scientist in the Forest Product Innovation (FPI), Queensland Department of Agriculture and Fisheries. He has experience working with multidisciplinary teams in industry, university, and government. His current research interests are forest resources characterisation, non-destructive evaluation, engineered wood products, timber drying, and durability. Dr Kumar received the Highly Commended DAF Australia Day Achievement Awards 2022, DAF achievement award—Fostering Innovation. He also received the Timber Queensland Growth Scholarship AKD award for his work to revolutionise timber processing steps in Queensland.
