Evgeniy N. Nikolaev is a Professor at the Project Center of Omics Technologies and Advanced Mass Spectrometry. He graduated from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, Department of Molecular and Chemical Physics in 1971. He studied postgraduate courses at PhysTech from 1971 to 1974 and received his PhD in chemical physics in 1974. He became a doctor at the Institute of Energy Problems of Chemical Physics, Russian Academy of Sciences in 1992. He has been a head of the Laboratory of Ion and Molecular
Physics from 1987 to now, a head of the Laboratory for mass spectrometry of biomacromolecules in the Institute of Biochemical Physics Russian Academy of Sciences from 2004 to now. From 2014 to the present, he has been a full professor at Skoltech. He is also an inventor of the Dynamically harmonized FT-ICR cell and the method of detection of FT-ICR signals with multiple electrodes. He is the organizer of several conferences, e.g., the 8th European conference on FT-ICR mass spectrometry; the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Conference school on mass spectrometry in Russia; and the First and Second International Conference on Innovations in Mass Spectrometry Instrumentation.
