Dr. Aurora López-Delgado

Aurora López-Delgado (Ph.D. in chemistry) is a research scientist at the Eduardo Torroja Institute of Construction Science, belonging to the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC). She has more than 25 years of experience in the synthesis of added-value materials such as glasses, glass–ceramics, ferrites, aluminas, zeolites, etc., using hazardous waste as raw materials. Her current research interests include the processing and technological characterization of industrial and mining wastes in order to develop processes to obtain added-value materials, and in the application of concentrated solar energy to high-temperature processes. She has co-authored more than 150 scientific publications, 10 patents, and more than 100 presentations at international conferences. She has participated in 71 research projects and contracts, and she has led 21 research projects, 6 of which were international competitive calls for proposals (LIFE, ECSC, AECID, SFERA).
