As an emerging teaching method, online learning is becoming increasingly popular among learners. However, one of the major drawbacks of this learning style is the lack of effective communication and feedback, which can lead to a higher risk of students failing or dropping out. In response to this challenge, this paper proposes a student performance prediction model based on multidimensional time-series data analysis by considering multidimensional data such as students’ learning behaviors, assessment scores, and demographic information, which is able to extract the characteristics of students’ learning behaviors and capture the connection between multiple characteristics to better explore the impact of multiple factors on students’ performance. The model proposed in this paper helps teachers to individualize education for students at different levels of proficiency and identifies at-risk students as early as possible to help teachers intervene in a timely manner. In experiments on the Open University Learning Analytics Dataset (OULAD), the model achieved 74% accuracy and 73% F1 scores in a four-category prediction task and was able to achieve 99.08% accuracy and 99.08% F1 scores in an early risk prediction task. Compared with the benchmark model, both the multi-classification prediction ability and the early prediction ability, the model in this paper has a better performance.

Studying learning path planning can help find useful implicit learning behavior patterns from learners’ online learning behavior data, which is conducive to helping beginners or learners with low participation to reasonably arrange the learning sequence of online knowledge points. This paper proposes a learning path planning algorithm based on collaborative analysis of learning behavior through collaborative data analysis of online learning behaviors. The algorithm, based on the learner’s online learning behavior data set, first establishes the concept interaction degree model of knowledge points and the directed learning path network, and proposes a local structure similarity measurement method between the knowledge nodes of the directed learning path network. Second, based on the learner’s Kullback-Leibler divergence (KLD) matrix, a learning behavior similarity calculation method on the basis of eigenvector matrix similarity is proposed, which is used to perform cluster analysis on learners with similar learning behaviors and to analyze the personalized optimal learning path of each kind of learners. Finally, the clustering algorithm and the evaluation index of the directed complex network have both verified the advantages of the algorithm. This paper employs the online behavior data set and online test data set obtained from the e-learning platform to conduct an empirical analysis of the learning path planning algorithm proposed hereof. The results show that the learner’s learning effect has been improved, verifying the validity and reliability of the algorithm.

Traffic flow prediction plays a crucial role in the development of smart cities. However, existing studies face challenges in effectively capturing spatio-temporal contexts, handling hierarchical temporal features, and understanding spatial heterogeneity. To better manage the spatio-temporal correlations inherent in traffic flow, we present a novel model called Dynamic Spatio-Temporal Memory-Augmented Network (DSTMAN). Firstly, we design three spatial–temporal embeddings to capture dynamic spatial–temporal contexts and encode the unique characteristics of time units and spatial states. Secondly, these three spatial–temporal components are integrated to form a multi-scale spatial–temporal block, which effectively extracts hierarchical spatial–temporal dependencies. Finally, we introduce a meta-memory node bank to construct an adaptive neighborhood graph, implicitly representing spatial relationships and enhancing the learning of spatial heterogeneity through a secondary memory mechanism. Evaluation on four public datasets, including METR-LA and PEMS-BAY, demonstrates that the proposed model outperforms benchmark models such as MTGNN, DCRNN, and AGCRN. On the METR-LA dataset, our model reduces the MAE by 4% compared to MTGNN, 6.9% compared to DCRNN, and 5.8% compared to AGCRN, confirming its efficacy in traffic flow prediction.

Massive open online courses have attracted millions of learners worldwide with flexible learning options. However, online learning differs from offline education in that the lack of communicative feedback is a drawback that magnifies high dropout rates. The analysis and prediction of student’s online learning process can help teachers find the students with dropout tendencies in time and provide additional help. Previous studies have shown that analyzing learning behaviors at different time scales leads to different prediction results. In addition, noise in the time-series data of student behavior can also interfere with the prediction results. To address these issues, we propose a dropout prediction model that combines a multiscale fully convolutional network and a variational information bottleneck. The model extracts multiscale features of student behavior time-series data by constructing a multiscale full convolutional network and then uses a variational information bottleneck to suppress the effect of noise on the prediction results. This study conducted multiple cross-validation experiments on KDD CUP 2015 data set. The results showed that the proposed method achieved the best performance compared to the baseline method.

In recent years, blockchain has substantially enhanced the credibility of e-commerce platforms for users. The prediction accuracy of the repeat purchase behaviour of e-commerce users directly affects the impact of precision marketing by merchants. The existing ensemble learning models have low prediction accuracy when the purchase behaviour sample is unbalanced and the information dimension of feature engineering is single. To overcome this problem, an ensemble learning prediction model based on multisource information fusion is proposed. Tests on the Tmall dataset showed that the accuracy and AUC values of the model reached 91.28% and 70.53%, respectively.
