Mirko Manetti was born in Florence, Italy on 24 April 1978 and currently works as Associate Professor of Human Anatomy at the Department of Experimental and Clinical Medicine, Section of Anatomy and Histology, School of Human Health Sciences, University of Florence, Italy. He received the Bachelor of Biological Sciences with full marks and honors in 2003 and the Ph.D. degree in Human Morphology and Morphogenesis (degree: excellent) in 2007 at the University of Florence, Italy. In 2006 and 2007 he was Visiting Scientist at the Department of Internal Medicine of the Justus-Liebig-University of Giessen, Germany. He has been Postdoctoral Research Fellow from 2007 to 2017, Assistant Professor from 2017 to 2018, and Assistant Professor (tenure-track position) from 2018 to 2021 at the Department of Experimental and Clinical Medicine, Section of Anatomy and Histology, University of Florence, Italy, where he currently serves as Associate Professor of Human Anatomy. In 2018 he obtained the National Scientific Habilitation for Full Professor of Human Anatomy from the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research. Dr. M. Manetti is author of numerous scientific publications in peer-reviewed international journals indexed in PubMed and proceedings of national and international congresses and currently is referee and Editorial Board member of numerous peer-reviewed scientific journals.
