Susana Vinga is an Associate Professor at Instituto Superior Técnico (University of Lisbon, ULisboa) and a researcher at INESC-ID. She works in computational biology and bioinformatics, spanning alignment-free sequence analysis and comparison, information theory, dynamic modeling and optimization of biological networks and physiological systems, and sparse methods for modeling high-dimensional omics and clinical data. She has authored 100+ publications and has led competitive funded projects, including the Horizon 2020 Twinning project OLISSIPO (https://olissipo.inesc-id.pt/), focused on advancing computational methodologies for translational research and clinical decision support. She received ULisboa/CGD scientific awards in Computer Science and Engineering for the impact of her publications.
