Dr. Bernd Fiebich

Dr. Bernd L. Fiebich is the Head RG Neuroimmunology and Neurochemistry at the University Hospital Freiburg, with a diploma in Biology from the Albert-Ludwigs-University in Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany. He earned his Ph.D. in 1993 from the Dept. of Molecular Cell Biology at Gödecke/Parke-Davies AG in Freiburg im Breisgau. He has profound experience in molecular, biochemical, and cellular neurobiology, neurodegeneration, neuroinflammation, and CNS cells, e.g., microglia, CNS tissues, signaling mechanisms, and miRNA. His current and previous research interests are neuroinflammation, GPRs, miRNA, natural products, nutrition and healthy aging, neuropeptides, environmental toxins affecting the brain, purinoreceptors, microglia/CNS, and nanowires. He has scientific memberships at Neurowissenschaftliche Gesellschaft, Immunologische Gesellschaft: Arbeitskreis Neuroimmunoendocrinologie, GEBIN, the Neuroinflammation Working Group (USA), and ISN: the International Society of Neurochemistry.
