Biography

I earned my Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Chemical Engineering from the Faculty of Chemistry at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) and graduated in 2014. I subsequently obtained my Master's and PhD degrees in Engineering from UNAM's Graduate Engineering Program in 2016 and 2021, respectively. I have been a member of the National System of Researchers of México (SNII) at Level I since 2022. After completing my PhD, I undertook a postdoctoral fellowship at the Center for Research and Advanced Studies of the National Polytechnic Institute (CINVESTAV), Querétaro Unit, home to the National Laboratory for Thermal Projection (CENAPROT). There, I established collaborative projects with CIDESI, CIATEQ, the University of Lowell (Massachusetts), and USTB (Beijing). I am currently a full-time professor in the Faculty of Chemistry at UNAM, specializing in foundry engineering. My research focuses on process engineering, emphasizing physical and mathematical modeling to analyze and optimize foundry, steelmaking, and thermal spraying processes. My main research areas include: • Process analysis of the melting/dissolution of metallic particles in molten metal baths. • Design of casting and feeding systems. • Treatment of liquid metal for ferrous alloys (inoculation, nodulization, and production of special irons) and non-ferrous alloys (degassing, grain refining, and modification). • Manufacturing and modification of biodegradable biocompatible alloys.
