Slawomir Pikula is a Professor at the Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology of the Polish Academy of Sciences. He got his MSc degree at Warsaw University in 1977 and completed his PhD studies in Biology at the Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology in 1985, respectively. He has served as the head of the Laboratory of Lipid Biochemistry at the Polish Academy of Sciences since 1997. He is a member of the Polish Biochemical Society. He was the Editor-in-Chief of the Polish scientific journal Postępy Biochemii (Advances in Biochemistry) and an Associate Editor of the Editorial Board of the international journal Acta Biochimica Polonica. He has 159 publications with 3695 citations and an h-index of 33 (Scopus, 21 November 2023).
