RNDr. Lucia Černáková, PhD. started her PhD. study in 2010 at the Departmet of Microbiology and Virology and since that time her research is focused on yeasts biofilms, inhibition, and antifungal resistance, respectively. She has been in two research stays (fellowships) in Portugal and she obtained grants for young researchers FEMS Research Fellowship a COST Action TD1305 - Short-term scientific mission. She participated in the implementation and optimization of photodynamic inactivation for the eradication of Candida sp. and mixed biofilms. She has experience with usage of the new mouse tongue model and Galleria mellonella larvae for biofilm study. The goal of her work was also testing alternative approaches to combat Candida auris which is commonly resistant to antifungal agents. She presented results of her research in international conferences in Croatia, Spain, Austria or Hungary.
