Claudia Paret holds a master’s in chemistry (Turin, Italy), a PhD in genetics (Dresden, Germany), and a Venia Legendi in molecular medicine (Mainz, Germany). Her research focuses on translating laboratory results into personalized therapies. She is interested in targeting deregulated pathways (especially the IGF pathway) and lipid metabolism (especially gangliosides) in pediatric tumors. In her function as coordinator of the immuno-oncology board of the UCT (University Cancer Center) in Mainz, she is interested in understanding the interaction between tumors and the immune system as a means of predicting new combination therapies. As a lecturer and member of the Molecular Tumor Boards (MTB) of the UCT, she teaches students how to analyze molecular data for the selection of a personalized therapy.
