Prof. Giuseppe La Regina is an Associate Professor of Medicinal Chemistry at the Dipartimento di Chimica e Tecnologie del Farmaco, Sapienza University of Rome. He graduated in Pharmacy from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Sapienza Università di Rome. Then, he completed a Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry from the same university, and he later received an Italian Level 2 Master in Drug Design and Development from the Faculty of Pharmacy, Università degli Studi di Pavia in 2007. After completing his Ph.D. studies, he served as a Post-Doc at the Welsh School of Pharmacy, Cardiff University, UK. He has published 110 papers in various journals, gaining citations more than 3900 times (Scopus, March 2024). His research interests include drug design, the synthesis and development of small-molecule-based anti-infective, anti-cancer, and central nervous system-active agents by microwave-assisted organic synthesis, and fully automated cromatography purification.
