Prof. Dr. Noel Christopher Barengo

Noël C. Barengo has received his academic training at the University of Kuopio (Finland), the Karolinska Institute (Sweden), and the University of Zurich (Switzerland): MD (1999); Master in Public Health (2001); PhD (2006); adjunct professor in Public Health at the University of Helsinki (2009). His research interests are prevention and control of hypertension, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, tobacco control, and physical activity. He has worked as consultant in non-communicable diseases for PAHO, the Ministry of Health of Argentina, Colombia, and Paraguay. He has published more than 120 scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals and three book chapters. Currently, Dr. Noël C. Barengo works as associate professor at the Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine & Robert Stempel College of Public Health, Florida International University, USA
